OUR
STORY |
![]() |
| Once upon a time a Vincy Rastaman living in London met a Yorkshire Rose transplanted from her valley to the city streets. At first she could not believe that Jah had really sent her for him, so she set off around the world for 2 years whilst he waited for her. On her return from Hong Kong, they accepted Jah guidance and had two lovely children (Simeon and Marilla) and were determined to make St Vincent their home. Ten years went by from their first meeting but their dream lived on and became reality when they found their dream home. They flew away from the rain and cold to the sunshine two years later to live the dream. |

OK, that's the fairy tale version now here's the facts Clare and Darwin John Clare and Darwin John joined the movement of "returnees" who are returning to the Caribbean but not retiring. Clare is a teacher working with students aged 16+. We permanently relocated to St Vincent in January 2004. Darwin was born in St Vincent and emigrated to London to join his parents when he was 14 years old. Clare Ibberson-John was born in Holmfirth, Yorkshire and moved to London over 20 years ago. We got married in February 2000 in St Vincent. We bought the house from Nolwyn McDowall in October 2002. Nollie is a well-known local architect and the inspirational design of the house reflects the fact that he built it for himself as a labour of love. Many of the features particularly the carpentry were constructed by him personally. As I am the proud author of this web site, most
of the prejudices expressed reflect my views rather than Darwin. |
